The weekend after Labor Day in Sept Hood River hosts a fly-in. Their WAAAM Museum is a great one as all the planes fly and the cars and motorcycles drive - not static displays of shiny aircraft. The great part about the Fly-In is the antique planes that come from all over. All the planes outside flew in, all those inside the hangars are WAAAM aircraft. The year after this I got a ride in a 1917 Stanley Steamer car!! They don't give rides in the planes, but do in the cars. This is a looong 33 minutes, so grab a libation and enjoy! The flew a rebuild of a 1910 Parker Pusher. And it crashed! Caught it on video. Nobody hurt and very minor damage to the aircraft. But what museum would fly a 1910 airplane?? WAAAM did!!!
